Professor Martin L. McLaughlin passed away peacefully on 24th January 2025 aged 74 years. He was much loved by his family, friends, and colleagues. Martin will be greatly missed by all, especially his wife Catherine, daughter Mairi, son-in-law Stewart, and granddaughter Iona. 
 
There will be a Funeral Service for Martin on Thursday 20th February 2025 at Christ Church Cathedral in Oxford. The service will take place at 2pm and it will be followed by a reception in the Hall. Family, friends, and colleagues are warmly invited to attend.
 
In lieu of flowers, the family ask for donations to be made to Sobell House Hospice in Oxford where Martin was looked after in the final weeks of his life. Mairi and Catherine are in awe of the care that was provided by everyone at Sobell House and they would like to help the hospice offer the same comfort and support to other families in honour of Martin’s life.
